West Valley College
West Valley College offers an American Bar Association (ABA)-approved) Paralegal Program designed to prepare students for careers as paralegals. The program provides two educational paths:
- Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal: This degree is suitable for students who do not already possess an associate or higher degree. It combines general education courses with specialized paralegal studies, totaling 60 units.
- Paralegal Certificate of Achievement: This post-degree certificate is intended for students who already hold an associate or higher degree. It requires the completion of 35 semester units focused on paralegal coursework.
The curriculum emphasizes practical legal skills, including legal research, writing, civil litigation procedures, and ethics. Students are also required to complete an internship, providing hands-on experience in a legal setting.
