 Cuyamaca College offers an American Bar Association (ABA)-approved Paralegal Studies Associate in Science degree program. Established in 2002, the program is designed to equip students with the analytical skills and written abilities necessary to assist attorneys in various legal settings, including private law firms, corporations, and government agencies. The curriculum emphasizes three primary areas: Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing; Ethics and the Mechanics of Law; and Integration of Substantive and Procedural Law. Students have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas of law through elective courses and can participate in internships to gain practical experience. The program also offers specialization tracks in areas such as Administrative and Public Law, allowing students to tailor their education to specific interests.
